Finding Equilibrium

Does time seem to be getting away from you?  Does it seem more and more difficult to find the things you need in your home or office?  Are you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or chaotic?  Are your things starting to feel like they are owning you rather than you owning them?  There is probably much more going on than at first appears to be on the surface of your life.

Welcome to a peaceful way back to sanity and balance.  Hi, I'm CJ and I have been a life coach for over a decade.  Recently I went through a huge transition in my life and got to apply a lot of the principles and tools that I've acquired and taught over the years to this transition.  During a change of residence, I decided to "right-size" my life.  I had raised three sons and had a 3-bedroom town home in the suburbs that was nice, but no longer seemed necessary for my new lifestyle without children in the home.  I'd always wanted to live in the city where everything seemed convenient, so I found a beautiful duplex in a peaceful neighborhood in a quiet pocket of the city, near my favorite things, at the epicenter of all my friends, and I decided that was going to be my new place.

Now, as you might suppose, all the stuff in my town home was not going to fit in my new place, so what do you suppose I did?  I got excited!  I rolled up my proverbial sleeves and I dove into a project that would consume a good part of 6 months!  I went through every piece of paper I owned and threw away, shredded and burned (yes burned ... in a wonderful bonfire celebrating freedom from paper clutter) more paper than I thought anyone could ever own, and I sold, gifted and donated about 90% of my household possessions.

I did it all using the mindful principles I have come to value through my decade of coaching others.  They have served me well through other life changes and they came through with flying colors once again.

Now I feel like I can locate everything I own.  No space is burgeoning as if it is about to explode.  Things stay pretty neat and orderly (well, it helps that it is just me now and that I no longer have three active boys each doing their own thing).  But it is the feeling of freedom, the feeling of peace of mind, and the difference I feel in my ability to focus and feel creative that I value the most.  I love how convenient everything in my new life is!

What I did was my solution for this time in my life.  It is not the answer for everyone, but what I've noticed since my experience is how frequently I am encountering this yearning in others to right-size their lives.  When four different acquaintances approached me and asked if I would consider coaching them through a similar process, I knew there was more to this than coincidence.  So, I have created an extension of my coaching practice focused specifically on assisting others through this process.

Let me be frank.  This is an emotional journey for sure, so know that I've been there and that I fully understand and will listen to your needs and desires and create an experience customized just for you.  After all, this is your life and your stuff and your dream of how you want it to be.

Let's make it come true!

Here for you,
CJ
